Why Should We Work on the ?four English Skills
Learning English is not just about memorizing vocabulary or studying grammar. To use English confidently, we need to work on four important skills: **Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing**.
Listening
Listening helps us understand what people say in English. It also helps us get used to different accents, pronunciation, and natural conversations. The more we listen, the easier it becomes to understand real English.
Speaking
Speaking helps us use the English we have learned. It allows us to communicate our ideas, have conversations, and feel more confident when talking to other people. You can know a lot of English, but speaking is what helps you use it in real life.
Reading
Reading helps us learn new vocabulary, grammar, and expressions naturally. It also improves our understanding of how English is used in different situations. Books, articles, stories, and even social media posts can help us practise reading
Writing
Writing teaches us how to organize our thoughts and express them clearly in English. It also helps us notice grammar and vocabulary mistakes and use new words correctly.
Why do we need all four?
These skills are connected. Listening helps speaking, reading helps writing, and all four skills support each other.
If you only focus on one skill, your English may become unbalanced. So, try to give **Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing** a little time every week.
**Remember: Learning English is not just about knowing the language. It is about being able to use it.**
